•	3 out of 5 people living in poverty are women and girls
•	Women are poorer today than they were 20 years ago
•	In 2 ½ years, 50% of all the AIDS cases will be among women
•	58% of all families living in poverty are headed by women

At the Foundation, we believe that we can do more when we act together and to address the ongoing challenges we face in our city, we must act and do more. Together we can make a greater impact than any of us could make alone.

At our Celebrating Women® Breakfast on May 15, 2008, we were given a new opportunity – to “Expand The Circle”. We were challenged to expand the circle of giving, to bring more people on board as activist philanthropists so that we can have a greater impact in the lives of women and families in our city. At the Foundation, we leverage all our gifts and invest in effective responses on behalf of women, families and communities.

We ask you to join and expand our circle today. It is possible to make a difference for women and girls in New York City.

HERE IS HOW IT WORKS

1.	Make a gift to the New York Women’s Foundation today.
2.	Ask your friends to join in making a tangible difference in the lives of women and families in New York City by making a gift of any size to The New York Women’s Foundation®. Ask that each person give as generously as they can. Remember that every gift counts!
3.	Send your completed sponsor form to The New York Women’s Foundation® at 434 West 33rd Street, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10001 OR Make your gifts online.
4.	All gifts received by September 15, 2008 will be matched dollar for dollar up to one million dollars.
