To support African Hope Committee’s work among the African immigrant community in New York City, with a particular focus on increasing awareness of HIV/AIDS and access to services among African immigrant women.

New York Asian Community Anti-Trafficking Collaborative
To provide legal assistance and representation to Asian women and girls trafficked into New York and conduct multilingual education and outreach designed to build a stronger Asian community response to end human trafficking.

TransJustice
To support transgender and gender nonconforming individuals and their allies in seeking gender, racial and economic justice through organizing, advocacy, alliance building, public education and training.

Brooklyn Young Mothers’ Collective   $50,000

To provide academic support, leadership development, health education, and skills-building workshops for pregnant and mothering young women to enable them to continue their education and become economically self-sufficient.

Adult Employment Program
To support job training, education, employment and entrepreneurial services as well as the Si Se Puede/We Can Do It! house-cleaning collaborative for low-income, immigrant women in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Chica Luna Productions   $40,000

To provide media literacy and practical media-making skills, along with community organizing and advocacy training, to young women of color.

College and Community Fellowship, Inc.   $40,000

To provide formerly incarcerated women with opportunities for higher education and self-advocacy.

Community Development Project of the Urban Justice Center   $35,000
Domestic Workers’ Rights Initiative
To provide critical legal support and technical assistance to the grassroots efforts of domestic worker organizations in New York City in their struggle for improved working conditions, higher wages, and respect.

Concerned Citizens for Family Preservation   $35,000

To work with mothers whose children are in the child welfare system or at risk of entering the child welfare system–primarily though offering workshops, parenting classes, individual family advocacy, and community education forums.

To support the ReConnect leadership and advocacy training program for formerly incarcerated women.

LUNAS: Filipino Migrant Workers’ Holistic Health Project

To address the health needs of Filipino domestic workers, while also helping them develop the skills and knowledge to navigate the health system and become strong advocates for their own welfare and human rights.

To support the economic advancement and wellbeing of immigrant women and their families by creating improved job opportunities and developing their capacity for advocacy.

To support the leadership development of the transgender, lesbian, gay, bisexual, Two Spirit, queer and questioning youth of color to build the next generation of community activists.

Girls Educational & Mentoring Services   $50,000

To continue and enhance Girls Education & Mentoring Services’ direct services to sexually exploited young women and its outreach, education and awareness raising programs on the issue of sexual exploitation.

To support an advocacy project that uses equal opportunity policies and procedures to expand opportunities for women in nontraditional occupations, specifically the construction and skilled trades.
