Grantee Partner Spotlight: Adhikaar

Passage of the Dream and Promise Act could change the lives of more Nepalis than any immigration reform in US History

Resilience NYC grantee partner Adhikaar has been working tirelessly to protect Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders around the country in the fight for permanent residency for all TPS and Deferred Enforcement Departure (DED) holders. On Tuesday, Adhikaar was in D.C. as the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 6, the Dream and Promise Act in a 237-187 vote. “We are so proud and so grateful for NYWF’s Resilience grant which has supported our work, especially in the immigrant rights front. Passage of this bill is a huge step towards improving lives of so many women and their families in NY and beyond, and we are glad we had the Foundation’s support through this.” Says Pabitra Benjamin, Executive Director.
